Twitter Reactions: Vidal, Matic, Schneiderlin And More

There has been so much talk on twitter for the past few days about speculations linking Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal to a move to Arsenal. Various sources have already confirmed his move from Juventus to the Emirates. We wait to see if this is actually true.

Another story making rounds is that involving Southampton and French international midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin with a move to Old Trafford. According to Dailymail and Goal, the deal has been wrapped up already and will be announced officially in the coming days.

These stories have made fans on Twitter to argue and compare the midfielders alongside fellow central players like Matic and Busquet.  Here are some tweets to this regard below

Twitter Reacts To Aliko Dangote’s Desire To Buy Arsenal

Africa’s richest businessman says he is planning a bid to buy Arsenal.

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote believes the building of an oil refinery in his homeland will give him the finance to secure a takeover.

The 58-year-old, who has an estimated wealth of £11.5bn, says he has supported the Gunners since the 1980s.

“When we get this refinery on track, I will have enough time and enough resources to pay what they are asking for,” he told BBC Hausa.

Dangote is ranked 67th on the Forbes rich list.

He had previously been interested in purchasing the 15.9% stake sold to Kroenke for £123m by Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith in April 2011 only to pull out.
Dangote believes Arsenal require a different ownership in order to be more successful on the pitch.

He added: “They are doing well, but they need another strategic direction. They need more direction than the current situation, where they just develop players and sell them.”

Twitter Reactions To Sepp Blatter Stepping Down As FIFA President

Sepp Blatter says he will resign as president of football’s governing body Fifa amid a corruption scandal.

In announcing his exit, the 79-year-old Swiss has called an extraordinary Fifa congress “as soon as possible” to elect a new president.

Blatter was re-elected last week, despite seven top Fifa officials being arrested two days before the vote as part of a US prosecution.

But he said: “My mandate does not appear to be supported by everybody.”
Blatter, who has been Fifa president since 1998, added: “The next ordinary Fifa congress will take place on 13 May, 2016 in Mexico City.

The latest allegations of corruption to emerge on Tuesday involved reports claiming Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke was responsible for an alleged $10m (£6m) payment of bribes over South Africa’s bid to host the 2010 World Cup.

Funny Twitter Reactions To Di Maria’s Poor Show For United

It’s not going well for Angel Di Maria, is it? The Manchester United winger was brought on as a substitute by Louis van Gaal as the Dutch coach tried to salvage something from the Red Devils’ Premier League meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Di Maria was brought on in the 64th minute—replacing Daley Blind only a minute after Jonas Olsson had opened the scoring for West Bromwich Albion following Chris Brunt’s powerful freekick.

United may as well have played with 10 men.

In his 25 minutes on the pitch, Di Maria attempted nine crosses and succeeded with a grand total of…one.

It’s no wonder that United fans took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the former Real Madrid man’s performance.

Manchester United supporters are still adapting to the idea that they are not playing Champions League football.
The internet was more than happy to remind them that this was the case and mocked the Old Trafford club.

Funny Twitter Reactions And Pictures To Danny Welbeck’s Brace For England

Danny Welbeck was not just the toast of the England dressing room but also the internet as virals flooded social media after Arsenal’s new forward bagged a brace against Switzerland.

Web jokesters were quick to remind Manchester United and Louis van Gaal what they have lost when Welbeck found the net in the 58th minute and fourth minute of time added on in Basle to kickstart England’s Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against their most fancied opponent.

In a mix of new and rehashed old favourites, Welbeck is superimposed holding the 1966 World Cup aloft, on the undershirt of Lionel Messi and on a £10 note – a graphic statement that he is apparently 10 times as good a player as his team-mate Raheem Sterling. Arsene Wenger’s savvy £16million signing of the former Red Devil late in the summer transfer window also get an unsurprising airing.
